Bastrop Homecoming 79th Annual Parade

August 1, 2026 from 10:00am – 11:30am

REGISTRATION:

We are still accepting entries for floats, marching bands, and/or community groups. Please click the 2026 PARADE REGISTRATION link to print the form, and bring the completed form with you the morning of the parade. Blank forms will also be available onsite.

DIRECTIONS TO CHECK-IN

On-site registration will take place at the corner of Hill and Buchanan Streets from 7:30am-9:00am. NOTE: Check-in will not be allowed after 9:30am. Judging is from 8:30am-9:30am.

  • From Hwy 95, go West on Chestnut to Pecan, turn right and head north to Buchanan. Turn east on Buchanan and travel 1/4 mile to parade check-in.
  • From Loop 150, go East on Chestnut to Pecan, turn left and head north to Buchanan. Turn east on Buchanan and travel 1/4 mile to parade check-in.

LINE UP AND PARKING:

  • A committee member will assist you with line up instructions at check-in
  • Lines 1 and 2 will be behind the school
  • Line 3 will be reserved for bands, cheerleaders, and drill teams that do not have floats
  • Parking on Cedar Street and Jefferson Street will not be allowed
  • Parking on the east side of Hill Street (after you check-in) is permissible
  • Parking for horse participants is available at the ROTC building on the visitors side of the stadium
  • Parking is not permitted on the Home and Visitors side of the stadium

JUDGING:

  • A committee member will collect your registration and number your entry.
  • Judging takes place from 8:30am-9:30am.
  • If you miss registration and judging, you may still participate in the parade but you will not be announced.
  • Awards will be handed out by judges prior to parade start at 10:00am.

RULES:

  • Do not stop to perform along the parade route
  • Performances may be done on Main St where announcements take place
  • Items may not be thrown from the vehicle – they may be handed out by walking participants
  • ATV’s (All-Terrain Vehicles) operated by licensed drivers only
  • NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
  • No glass containers
  • No extremely loud music or vehicles
  • Participants may be removed by law enforcement or parade officials at any time for failure to abide with rules and regulations.
  • Lost and Found items will be taken to the main ticket booth at Mayfest Hill Park
